Backyard Olympics Sentence

Rating: 5.0

In the backyard of The Bush To The Burbs,
a native Australian plants business,
having shared with proprietress Ginny McInnes
the fixing of the 'manta-ray' over the clothes hoist
to shade the hanging baskets below,

holding the bendy 'javelin',
a pole-vault-long 3/4 x 1 1/2,
I said, 'See yon house roof
beyond the vine-covered pergola'
...
and on my second try,
this time with a run-up,
...
and better than on the roof, for mine,
and for certs silenter,
it, not I, soared on top of
and stayed on
the vine.
