Ban's A Toothless Hound Poem by Aniruddha Pathak

Ban's A Toothless Hound

For every blanket ban as is found
We create flourishing underground—
Like rabbits that are bred,
Unjust ban their sole aid,
Prohibit and wake a toothless hound.

Bans and prohibitions nowhere work. In fact by prohibiting something we unwittingly encourage, be it a book, movie, or liquor. Spurious and underground things come in their place. But we do not seem to learn.
