Banana Leaf Poem by Kishore Kumar Das

Banana Leaf

All around my home
I watch the banana leaves
a novice green roll
born out of the stem
and unfolds
slowly; but gradually
to be a large banana leaf
with drizzling rains
alike the pearls in the leaf
many take food in the leaf
O what a satisfaction it gives...
green....
the colour of nature
contentment carried forward
with the food that goes to stomach
whatever you eat...
you feel the joy
whatever work you do..
do with pleasure
always be fresh like a banana leaf
for destressing
focus the leaf in the 'let go' process
imagine the tranquility
see the green in your eyes
mind wrapped with greenery
make your heart as big as a banana leaf
forgive the guilty:
and be stress-free.
