She stared into the barrel of his gun -
Just like she did,
Once upon her yesterday.
The brutal flashbacks had no mercy,
As she gazed upon his beautiful, crooked smile,
While he inflicted every blow.
Pistol to her heart,
He pulled the trigger
Bang, bang!
He seemed to have known
About her secret scars
For he mirrored every blow,
From her yesterday.
He saw the depths of every wound,
Yet still, he plunged
Right through,
As if to mock her pain.
Pistol to her heart,
He pulled the trigger,
Bang, bang!
Unaware of his schemes,
She trustingly followed him,
As he took her hands
And led her to that familiar place -
The gateway to deception.
He spoke sweet lies,
Masked in riddled love.
Pistol to her heart,
He pulled the trigger,
Bang, bang.
Reflecting her yesterday's,
He echoed promises of forever.
And being the naïve fool,
She believed in him, trusted him.
She was patient, kind and true,
Even when he often caused her heart to be sore and blue.
She wasn't hesitant to forgive him.
Pistol to her heart
He pulled the trigger,
Bang, bang.
His cruel, naked heart refused to see his wrongs
Until one day, guilt pricked him
So he boldly acknowledged his selfishness
But he still wanted more, he didn't care to let go
‘though he hurt her so.
Seeing how much she ached was far from enough.
So, he continued to use words to play with her heart,
Guilting her into believing that she was the one doing him wrong
Pistol to her heart
He pulled the trigger,
Bang, bang.
