I'll ban a book
Before I'll ever ban a gun,
I wonder where this logic comes from.
We'll ban books in schools
Before we ever ban guns,
That's how we become the controlling ones.
We wanna ban books
As Hitler once did,
So, truth and facts can be forever hid.
But, we don't or won't care
Who carries a handgun or a rifle,
That's unimportant, and just trifle.
We will ban books
And we'll tell our children what to read,
Then our judgment and beliefs they must heed.
We are more afraid of our children learning
So, we are protesting and crying,
We are more afraid of them reading than of them dying.
