Baptism. Poem by dave lessard

Baptism.

Splash... way down under you go,
the man that's full of sin;
immersed in a watery grave,
now sober of where's he's been.
Then raised from death that was,
renewed to a new found life;
gone, his burden of grief,
free from past pain and strife.
Cleansed from a sin-filled man,
a God-filled creation is born;
blessed by the Holy Spirit,
wages called death are shorn.
Infused with grace of His Being,
instilled by gift of His Love;
he now looks upward to heaven,
praising the Power above.
Now given true vision of seeing,
now opened the ears of the deaf;
he says a prayer of Thanksgiving,
with each and every breath.
