Basket Case Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Basket Case

Don't fool yourself.
Those wrapped up in consequences...
Are attached to them like a habit.
Like Easter is associated,
With candy, egghunts and rabbits.

And every opportunity given,
You will hear them mention...
A need to release themselves,
From being identified...
As a basket case.
