In my basket full of shadows
Is a long and lonely night.
It swallows up the daisies,
It swallows up the light.
Crawling on the wicker
In between the stars
Is a little ladybug
That has strayed too far.
I usher it away,
Flying from these fears
I keep hidden in my basket
Hungering for tears.
This stringed wooden basket,
I hold dutifully on my arm,
Is my Pandora's box
I seal away from harm.
But if the planets should fold,
And the wicker shall break,
The stars shoot away,
For the heaven's sake,
I must reach inside
And tear heaven apart
And hide the shadows
In my stone heart.
