'Be As Little Children' * Poem by james watkin

'Be As Little Children' *

Was I ever that bemused?
Step-sat babe; wrapped up in
The least of buzzings, brightenings;
Fostered an unspoilt grin.

Were you, balconied, crowd-waved
But miserable prince?
Meek Christ child's Lord of Lords
Deem; with full confidence!
Un-distracted from off thereaft
Doctrines of Innocence.

* Matt.18.1-5
