Be Hurry To Bury The Obsolete Religions - Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

In a secular democracy
organized groups or parties
on caste or religious principles
should be banned, as they fan
the flames of narrow thoughts
to rise, fight and frighten
other races or religious groups
and make those less in numbers
to take guns throwing off their rusty swords.

The cunning wolf does harm in the garb of caste
and the tiger mauls us in the name of religion.
When they are children, they are calm.
Growing into bigots, they do all harm.
Let scholars of all the cults in equal numbers
assemble together to write a modern Holy Book
with preachings in people's tongues
for them to understand and say real prayers to God.

If the priests preach in people's tongues,
people would drive out the fake and filthy preachers
from all the holy places of all the religions.
Allot four square feet-plots to all the gods
in all the places of worship of all the religions.
One priest can offer service to the whole congregation.
Let the jobless priests, the nude sages
the bearded mullahs or the armed monks
be employed in mines for the worthy gold
to dig, to sweat and earn something to eat.
