Becoming A God Poem by Akham Nilabirdhwaja Singh

Becoming A God

Rating: 5.0

A local priest
Picked up a stone to worship
From the side
Of a deteriorating village road
Long neglected.

Other stones annoyed,
'It is an ordinary stone
Like us'.

The poem seeks to portray the mind-set of innocent villagers exploited by con-men in the name of religious faith. Deeply philosophical analysis. Thanks.
