Becoming Forever Poem by Dónall Dempsey

Becoming Forever

Rating: 4.5

I remember you
waiting for me

by Waterloo
Bridge

all golden hair
all green silk blouse

resplendent
in a setting sun

a thing of
Beauty

the setting and you
absolutely stunning.

The nervous anticipation
of your waiting

like a little fish
swimming back & forth

in a bowl
too small for it

eager to catch first
sight of me

& how your face
lights up

when it discovers
me

such love
shining out of your face

blinds me
as I look into the sun

raise my hand
to wave

and now even all
these years later

I still meet you
here

in the setting sun
of memory

that one moment

becoming forever.

Amazed. Vivid imagery, the pauses, the listening eye heard it too :) Lovely and touching poem!
