Before I Waste Myself Poem by Em Jay Christian

Before I Waste Myself

Before I became what I’ve become,
I would have died to know your touch.
Before I learned all that I know,
I would have killed to know this much.

Before I lost all that I’d won,
I would have missed my smile.
Before you realize that I’m gone,
Please know I loved you all the while.

Before I give all that I’ve got,
I will hold on for the ride.
Before I count all that I’ve lost,
Let me lock the rest of me inside.

Before my life begins to end,
Can’t you love me as I am?
Before I break myself for you,
Can’t you pretend to give a damn?

Before I lose my everything,
Could you believe my love is true?
Could you say that I am beautiful,
Before I waste myself on you?
