Before Me Lies A Child Dying In Pain Poem by Daya Nandan

Before Me Lies A Child Dying In Pain

Before me lies a male child dying in pain,
Fading from existance during the falling rain,
And his mother is in tears, she can barely stare,
A heart ache born from her years of love and care,

It pains her so much to watch him fade,
The child her husband and her lovingly made,
She intoxicated with fear, depressed to the core,
Holding on to hope, wishing he could see so much more,

Her child is so young, not ready to leave this earth,
Barely a decade has passed since his birth,
No mother deserves to bare such hurt,
Knowing that at any second he will be burried in dirt,

She begs the doctors to make him live,
Willing to pay all the money that she can give,
Unfortunately, there is nothing much the doctors can do,
For this poor child slowly turning blue,

The oxygen in his blood keeps reducing,
And the battle of survival becomes a game of losing,
Time passes by as he expells his final breath,
And goes into an irrevisable state called death,

Now the mother cries and falls to the ground,
Seeing her son's corpse without a single sound,
She begs her son to breathe but he remains dead,
With open eyes and a bluish colour upon his head
