Before You Do Poem by Tony Cemaluk

Before You Do

It leaves before you do,
It goes before you do,
It arrives before you do —
Either way you turn,
Either side of the divide.

It chooses before you do,
First come, first served,
It claims the best of both,
And the finest space within,
On either side of the divide.

So move before it does,
Or mourn after it does.l
