Behind My Eyes
Behind my eyes is so much experience
So much traveling that’s been done
My eyes have witnessed so much
Way before it should have
It has seen the beatings
It has seen the abuse
It has seen the lonely nights
I’d cry out over you
It has seen the scars
The pain trapped inside of my heart
Behind my eyes
Are so many stories still untold
Preventing me from growth…
as a person and as a child
The hurt behind my eyes
Goes beyond miles
It goes beyond years
And you know the worst part about it all?
….no one will ever care
