Behind The Wine Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Behind The Wine

Behind the wine

Fell bottle
- (of red wine,)
-from the bottles' rack;
-and shattered…

Wine painted floor, walls
-and face of cabinets.
-Scattered fragments, shrapnel!

Red!
Red!
Red!

Resembled the kitchen
- (shot deer; in the head,
-in blood, at lake's edge.)

In my mind formed the thoughts;
-amassing the clouds in sky
-with the deer's blood
-shallow waves
- (of a lake abandoned,
-to deer, a haven!)

The Questions cluster
- (in my mind,)
-as grapes in my palm
- (squeezed! ! !)
-Growers of latter, harvesters,
-Latinos, Mexican labourers
-working in Niagara!
- (On a-short-term-visa!)

I hear my own shout
- (Of having shed blood,)
-when it burns my throat.

Feeling lost as victim, culprit, criminal,
-feel being prosecutor; see me as:
- "A rapist, blood-sucker, conquistador! "
- "A shameless murderer of the Lambs in Silence! "
