Behold The Gift Of Prophecy! Poem by Denis Martindale

Behold the gift of prophecy that God chose to bestow,
Alerting us of what must be, as Genesis would show.
Forgiveness and Eternity, meant for Mankind to know,
Yet only if Christ would agree and to His Cross would go!

The prophets preached as they were led, in thought and word and deed,
And wrote of what must lay ahead, wise words we're meant to read.
God's promises showed why Christ bled, so God's grace would succeed,
Despite Christ's awful sense of dread, He served the greater need.

So all our sins could be addressed, and overlooking none,
Aware how sinners could be blessed by what must yet be done,
By faith, Christ trusted God knew best, not sparing His Own Son,
That's why believers are impressed, yes, every single one.
