Being a woman
Out on a night's stroll
May have been
Her only fault
Her self-esteem
Mercilessly stolen
By intoxicated animals
Disguised as men,
Who trespass
All that is
Sacred to her
No courts of justice
To set right
The tormented victims
Who've been wronged
The dastardly acts
Of a few indecent men
Forces a decent nation
At large
To hang its head
In utter shame.

I love the last paragraph. Such an apt ending to a powerful poem. I love the direct message in it.
Sexual assault and rape has to be dealt with by our justice system in a substantially more punitive way. we give these animals an easy way out, if we don't convict them for sure,
I'm so proud that you have taken up this cause and fight for it with such passion Govind. The poem is so beautifully written and to the point.
It's a travesty that women in the 21st century still need to deal with assault and lewd behavior on the streets and elsewhere. Your poetic words drives home the point loud and clear.
These comments miss the point of comment. We all agree that women can are being mistreated, this Poe m misses the point where is the compassion the anger the resolve? ? Not here
Nothing new here. Written as newspaper article. No passion sorry
Reads like a newspaper story nothing new here. This doesn't add anything to the horrendous plight that some women have to endure.
Our head hangs in shame when we come across such incidents. There is a need to educate our population, especially the younger generation and inculcate in them moral values. A beautiful poem on this haunting issue.
I'm ashamed of what's going on in our country. The land of the goddess, where the very ground that women walk on is so sacred, is being tarnished by hooligans that have no self control,
