Being Caught In Embargo.... Poem by Jayatissa K. Liyanage

Being Caught In Embargo....

Rating: 5.0

More than ever, I, in my aimless mind
Suddenly behold the beauty of my garden
Hear the rhymes of hissing corn leaves
Whispering breeze on blooming beans

Mesmerizing fragrance, mind craving
blooming creepy gourd-wine castes
Overwhelmed warmth 'n enlivening scent
fertile garden soil lingering behind

Dangling fiery pungent blood-red chillies
calling a supper time warm-up meeting
Quiver taste-buds, seeing juicy star-fruits
Thorny twigs held shiny bulb-like Tahiti-lemons

Feel the warmth of a clandestine battle
inside my pitch-black compost bin
Listen to clattering firearms at war front
'o fighter microbes against bugs on my plants

In the company of godly sun moon and stars
feel loving kindness of drops from heavens
For the sizzling, whistling and cheering mode
its a treat by my talking little garden

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Corona virus put all of us aback in our routine day-to-day affairs.Being confined within walls, one can still enjoy the liberty to mess around with plants in his/her garden. Its thrilling.
