Being In Love And Sincere Love Poem by Gert Strydom

Being In Love And Sincere Love

(in answer to Lina Spies)

Being in love and sincere love are strange things
and you had been so enchanting and in my blood.
We both carried files, books and bookcases
when at college I asked you to be my girlfriend,
through the studies only you were on my mind
and in the Afrikaans writing class
your glances went into my eyes and heart,
the dean warned me and hypocritical did suspect more
and you had been so enchanting and in my blood.
