Being Me Poem by Aya Takahashi

Being Me

</></></></>I’m just a typical girl who doesn’t have any skill,
And I’m trying to be happy all the time, pretending that everything around me is still fine.
I’m just a girl who gives a happy façade but deep inside I’m really sad,
Always pretend that I’m strong, that I can it make all along.

I’m just a girl in the corner, whom they called a ‘loner’
I don’t really care, for I am who I am and I don’t need their approval.
I’m just a girl whom they call dunce and every words that I said are nonsense.
I tried to build a wall to be able to see who will climb and cares for me at all.

Everyone call me bizarre, well I took it as compliment for that’s being rare.
And I have my own fantasy, where I know I can be happy and be myself freely.
I know I’m diverse with others and no one can understand me
And I can’t and won’t ask everyone to like me but still I am me and I know I can be happy
