Being Myself Poem by Jason Summers

Being Myself

Rating: 2.0

I really like talking to you, not because you're attractive or a woman,
But from the safety of your eyes, determination of will, and ability to understand.
There is much power with your words of knowledge, truth, and respect.
And, I know I don't have to keep my feelings enclosed, with you, straightforward and direct.
I feel as though to get to know you more, life experiences don't have to be shared.
By your own behavior, mood, or feelings to care.
I will hope to continually see you and welcome your thoughts.
Telling me to listen, learn, and believe the dreams you have brought.
