Beneath The Waters (Sonnet 2) Poem by Ellen Rose Guilaran

Beneath The Waters (Sonnet 2)

Rating: 5.0

As far as the eye can see, I've been told
In there, leagues away, the Coral Cove sits
Rumors says: t'was near-death stories untold
No one dares to cross, seas of dubious myths

One day, I took courage with me to sail
Those of Devilfish-infested waters.
I will never show fear or I shall fail!
My boat starts to move, the water splatters.

My Conscience shouts from within, 'Mutiny! '
Thus, doubting-- or give my family grief?
Now here, it welcomes me defiantly.
One step to this island but path's too steep
Shrieks! -- and pulled to the abyss of the deep.
