Best Friends

Greeting me with one ear flipped back
The other ear lying perfectly slack.
His favorite place in the middle of my lap,
Licking my face, knocking off my cap.
Begging to do what he’s loved since a pup,
Riding head out the window of my old pickup truck.
So off we go for a hot summer night ride,
My best friend Buddy, happily at my side.

Oh yes, reminds me of the poem I've just written about our beloved dog, Pippin. Welcome to the club and good luck for the future. Marilyn
