Between Life And Death Poem by MOHAMMAD SKATI

Between Life And Death

We are all equal
When it comes to death
Although some try to make
This occasion different
By making marble tombs
To their loved-ones and
To have luxurious funerals,
We are not all equal
When it comes to life
Whereas everyone does
What he likes or
What she likes whatsoever,
There is a huge gap between
What is called life and
What is called death,
Life is a great thing
To some people while
It is to the majority of
People as a big burden,
Richness and poverty accompany
Certain people
Here and there,
Some people want to be
In this world
For ever and ever forgetting
All about death while
Some other people choose death
As they try to escape life fully,
The standards of life and
The standards of living matter
To all of us.

We in life forget that all souls come from the the same spark. But what we forget in life, Death tends to remind us that 'in dust art thou equal made'. I liked your Between Life And death, dear poet.
