Between The Tear Smudged Battle Lines

between the tear smudged battle lines

you read instead the star maps as they climb, the stars,

above all frays and anything else you had in mind

too far from your dreaming days

the sorrowful cost, defrayed.

let Time bear swiftly down

you will find another hour

is granted you and then another

sustaining your amazement

as you fall

unwounded into

a Spring breaking out

into little gold flowers and the Immutable.
