Beyond All Limits Poem by Dónall Dempsey

Beyond All Limits

Rating: 5.0

The lonely sax
of “Lilly Was Here”

dances us
around our little flat

“...the very instant
that my soul saw you
did my heart fly
to your service...”

I misquote
THE TEMPEST

but you don’t know
the quote

and so don’t know
that I misquote it

always loving
my misquote better

than the original
Shakespeare

basking in the love

that dances us
around our little flat

as the evening sun declines
to answer our every question

the sax still insistent on asking

what can be
only known in time
by Time.
