Big City Hustle Poem by Adam Holmes

Big City Hustle

Yellow clad cabby drive for miles
Twelve hours driving, put a roof on his head
Left home a half world away
To find himself traveling all day

Sharp dressed gentleman carry your briefcase
Pacing, racing, must stay ahead of time
Sidewalk superhighway specialist
Didn’t spill a dropp of that five dollar latte

Big city lights show off your splendor
In between flashes, a star eager to be seen
Business as usual and you don’t have an appointment
Beauty unseen, isn’t really something lost

Steel trapped tower reach to the sky
A tourist’s eye opens in awe
Marvelous man, works well with is hands
We would’ve built them bigger...

Those damn clouds got in our way

I liked the last line which I found amazing and funny about the clouds getting in the way.

Adam, This is brilliant, particularly the line 'Steel trapped tower reach to the sky'.
