Strings Attached Poem by Adam Holmes

Strings Attached

Rating: 5.0

Puppeteer moves us, roundabout
Go with the flow, avoid the undertow
Puppets we are and always will be
Until the current sucks us down
Driftwood sets no specific course

Lies..lies.. my nose grows
Waves crashing
Lightning striking
I start smiling
If water fell up
I would be floating

Master says dance, try to keep the beat
Move with the music, a familiar tune
Dancers we are and always will be
Until the day the floor falls out
Worn shoes step without surprise

Lies.. lies.. my nose grows
Birds chirping
Children laughing
I stop smiling
If floors were ceilings
I would be falling

Anywhere we go there will be always lies... it is apt to us if we live to it! A 10.
