It bears the weight of dried onions, tears of the past
Resting on rusted trunnions, with fears it won't last
An iron egg shell age hardened, but rotten to the core
A rusting rage relic pardoned, iced under dust of a forgotten war
More noise than shell spitting fire from broken teeth and mouth
Brimstone from hell, a fitting liar, a drunken dry drought
Scattered fallen casings laying all about
Past battle tracings rebuke the face of doubt
When young a short fuse, hole now spiked
A tongue with elevation screws, black soul disliked
