Birdie Peeps Poem by Donald R Wolff JR

Birdie Peeps

Hey there little tiny bird
Why does thee sit upon my window, perched
Dawn has come and now you sing
Away, I say and let me sleep

Though the day begins by smelling liter toes
The Birdie comes to let me know
Morning time and then she sings
Why me Birdie, Tell me please

One day a chatter with louder peeps
A noise so loud like a flock of geese
There she sat with her spread of wings
Now five of them won't let me sleep

The cat would hiss, then run away
This seemed a game both liked to play
Then one day they left, they flew away
An empty nest still remained

Each morning, both the cat and I
We watch each day for the sun to rise
It is much too quiet for us to sleep
Oh, how we miss our birdies, little peeps
