insanity personified

Black… - Poem by insanity personified

With half a dozen drinks inside
He was already high
Barely a youth
His friends were uncouth
His throat burned
As he swallowed toxin
The abuses were hurled
The world spun
The first time
He tried nicotine
The smoke reached his brain
He was no more sane
The world seemed to lose its shade
The first time he hooked
The whole world shook
Now
After twilight his day begins
Kicking everyone in there shins
Stealing grass crack an coke
Spending nights in beds with whores
His mind wasn’t worn
It was wrathfully torn
Syringes, bourbon & caffeine
He just wasn’t like every other teen
Hurling stones breaking rules
On police cars & convertibles of different hues
Blacking out for days together
Calling up his mother
Would rend his wrists rather
Spending nights in dark alleys
Consuming heroin like barley
Now cigarettes seem a drug too mild
Without drugs his machine became wild
Painful black tarry stools
Peeing in his no more new
Blacking out was a part of his routine
Black was how his world was seen
Parents, friends, money
He lost it lost it all
His world is now between those dark walls
It’s the colours that his life lacks
Because now the world seems black …….
