Blackout Poem by Iftekhar Bukhari

Blackout

Blackout
A little boy he was, scared
whose exams weren't far off
and he had to memorize yet
so many things from the books
But, that night in his town
not a single light was to be seen
He had to study, but
the only source of light was far away:
the light emanating out of
the mouths of the field guns
