I could liken you to flowers
Reminiscing our days of yore;
Also to a tree that towers
Like of friendship's fortitude core.
I could liken you to rainbows
That outstretched its colorful band.
You represent each colored rows
Which, without one, cannot stand.
I could liken you to the clouds -
May it be black or white or gray.
Despite our various, diverse doubts,
We concur in similar ways.
I could liken you to lightning,
Whose flash is like that of a sword;
While the thunder's scream is deafening
Like that of the most truthful word.
But no, I chose not to use these.
Well why, if you may want to ask?
For all that I have mentioned here,
Will not endure until the last.
It's best to liken you to stars;
They hold countless recollections.
They seem to be distantly far,
But they're bound to perfection.
Blanket of stars in the sky - free -
Seemed to tuck me to sleep tonight.
Changed positions but still with me:
Day or night, they are still in sight.
