Bleak House: Winkle

'What's a winkle, ma? '

'Well son,
winkle rhymes with sprinkle,
which comes from sprain,
and that's a rick,
like you get in your neck,
and a rick's a Richard,
and without spelling it out,
a Richard is a winkle.
But if you call a Richard that
he's likely to knock you flat.'
