Bleak Ideals Poem by anonymous californian

Bleak Ideals

I see the way you look at her,
now in your mind I'm just a blur.
I hear your laughter down the halls,
while staring at your old missed calls.
As time goes on I move away,
from truths telling me not to stay.
I tell myself to turn the page,
but blacks and whites have turned to gray.
Remind yourself the things he's done,
but I still sing the songs we sung.
Late nights spend driving in your car,
and yet we never made it far.
I made you leave it was my choice,
still, my dreams echo with your voice.
Though mind and heart still won't collide,
I know ill love you till I die.
