POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Note: I wrote these poems in the haiku style of poetry while thinking of one of my parents friends who gave me a simple recipe to cook acorn squash in the oven. This memory came about when considering what to have for dinner tonight and I thought of baking some butternut squach in the oven with some chorizo sausage and this lead me to the memory of acorn squach which is not so commonly eaten in this part of the world which further lead me to the memory of Mary who taught me how to make her acorn squach recipe which I loved so much. All the elders of my time are gone now and I am now the elder and many of you reading this will be elders in the future if you made good choices and can survive this spiritual war raging now. I published these poems for the first time on my blog today, the 28th of July,2021.
