Blessed Wonder Poem by Elijah Akinwunmi

Blessed Wonder

Rating: 5.0

Blessed wonder, mystic answer
To all that is near and yonder
Whose marvels foggy heads taunt
As ghosts helpless kids in dreams haunt.
She is the fragrance of the flowers
Aloft in Nature's fair summers,
The hue which festoons their petals
Clothing them with lustrous medals.

Blessed wonder, unvoiced question
Which robes the heart with passion-
Infinite and high like the sky-
And bids not the mind make reply.
She is the bright, shapely statue
Worshipped and honoured by the dew,
And the crooning birds; she is sheer
Hunger, she is blessed wonder.
