Blinding Light Poem by Midifo Yearns

Blinding Light

Rating: 5.0

Blinding flash that closes eyes
opens up the heart and mind
to see and briefly understand
that naked feet upon the sand
is all that’s left of outer rind
when seed submits to truth and dies.

In silent depth true life will rise
in muted sound from far behind
and deep within from barren land
new life begins to sprout from sand
once trodden hard, now kind,
that opens up the darkened skies.

And then like gentle pouring rain
each touch excites with firm caress
that slowly lingers then departs
yet cuts to core like sharpened darts
and never fails a life to bless
or free the heart from aching pain.

This touch of God is ever sweet
yet wounds it does and leaves to bleat
with pleasing cry, the one who sighs
with love, as false-self wounded lies
where truth begins its songs to sing
and freshness to one’s life does bring.
