Bloom & Doom Poem by Varghese J Kuttikat

Bloom & Doom

All smiles frozen in an instant
Won't it break the beloved's heart ?
Or the gradual setting of the Sun
And the ushering in of Night at last
Grant at least a ray of light in the all- devouring dark ?
The sheer unexpectedness may strike as a thunderbolt sudden
But isn't the sheer sense of impending doom
More unendurable, definitely more agonizing?
The tie of a common doom unites all mortals
Love , not necessarily conjugal love, in fact, love of all sorts
Elevates Man to be the all- beholding Sun glorious
Though the bloom he breeds may wither away in sobs grievous
