Bonus Grandson Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Bonus Grandson

When my son and daughter-in-law got divorced…
It was a sad day, not something that I endorsed.
They had two lovely children that were still tots.
What would become of the family, after the cannots?

Losing touch with my grandkids was not an option.
Absence of their presence would feel like abduction.
Throughout the difficult situation we found a way,
An open path has retained a connection to this day.

My grandchildren have a new sister and a brother.
Each of the siblings share the same devoted mother.
They have the unique acquisition of three grandmas.
The third is me, ready to be called upon just because.

On many occasions, I am asked to watch the littlest one.
His name is Matthew. He is my lively bonus grandson.
He is rambunctious, and refuses to sit still for very long.
Some think that he is hyperactive; I say they are wrong.

Enthusiastic is a more accurate description for his gusto.
During some events, he does not abide by the manifesto.
For this reason, I have an opportunity to have one on one.
When he stays behind, I look forward to having lots of fun.

Now you know my little secret, watching him in not a chore.
He improves my day. He revives my youth and much more.
Granny loves her little grandson with sparkling eyes of blue.
The loving bond we have is stronger than any biological glue.

This is absolutely adorable! ! ! I would say you should show it to mom... but... then you may get tied into baby-sitting more; -)
