Bookworm Poem by Rini Shibu

Bookworm

Rating: 4.7

When you are immersed in books
And soaked with words
And nothing else seems
more interesting
Brain works and gets tired
straining the particles of knowledge
But living inside books
you forget the beautiful world around
and  time runs ahead of you
leaving you behind

Only a fool will compare the poems of these two outstanding poets on PH. Your frustration comes out of your jealousy. First, develop your IQ up to a reasonable level then post such comments.

I invite Sandra Feldman and Rose Marie to read the comments on this poem. I suspect one of them is either of you two/Kumarmani G/Husband of B. Nayak/Sylvia Francis Chan

I have nothing to learn from the below gentleman Answer this. I am not at all a book worm. I don't imitate style of others because I am gifted with the power of creativity. I can create in my own ways and in my own style!

you forget the beautiful world around and time runs ahead of you leaving you behind.. this is so true dear Rini. this is also my experience. immersing oneself in books and wisdom is good. But we shall not forget to commune with the nature. Nature and meditation and contemplation helps us to be more and more human. thank you for your thoughts.. tony

Beautiful poem about the joy of reading books. But towards the end, it is observed that 'you forget the beautiful world around'. This, too, is a big tribute to the books and its readers. Thanks.
