Born Free, Like You! Poem by Randy McClave

Born Free, Like You!

I wear a Covid mask because you don't want me to
Because, you won't know who I am or what I'm going to do,
You can't look at the lines or the marks on my face
So, you don't know me because of my looks, or of my race.
Now my body or my thoughts you cannot ever control
And when I wear a mask remember it is my body and my soul,
And you don't even know if I'm wearing a smirk or a grin
Because, I will not ever allow you to look in.
I will not look like any of those cowardly frightened maskless sheep
My facial recognition they won't know or keep,
I can go unnoticed anywhere not looking like a controlled lamb
And because of my mask, no one will ever know who I am.
I took my Covid shots because unknowledgeable people do lie
I have all the truth and the answers and they still question me why,
They want me to get Ill and then also get affected and then drop dead
So, they can dance and sing and get drunk being unvaccinated instead.
I am a hard worker who worked 40 plus hours a week
To control me people still try desperately and seek,
So, I took all of the shots so, I can stay strong and healthy
I still wear a mask, because of safety and I like being stealthy.
They sent our forefathers to dig in a coal mine
Without safety or protection to save businesses another dime,
Our forefathers believed their bosses that safety and protection wasn't the answer
So, our forefathers from their own negligence and stupidity, got cancer.
I took my flu and polio shots and I also take my vitamin pill
I am doing my best to not ever get affected or to get myself or others ill,
So, in the flame of health and liberty my family and I will bask
Because we all took our vaccine shots, and we all wear a mask.
Sadly many unvaxxers will slowly and painfully suffer and then die from Covid
I wished that they had listened to their own common sense, as I did,
I took my Covid shots because no man can control me
And I was born with smart caring parents, and also I was born free.
