Born In A Manger Poem by Randy McClave

Born In A Manger

A baby was born in a manger
His life was then put in great danger,
But, it was not because of a Pharisee
But, because of a harsh President's decree.
The child's parents came to this great land
In love and peace they wanted to make a stand,
But, now this country would not help the poor or the needy
Now, they would help only the mighty, the rich and the greedy.
So, the child that was born on this Christmas Day
His parents were quickly and violently taken away,
And instead of bringing him Frankincense, Myrrh and Gold
They brought him evil, hate and a cage to hold.
The child shivered and was alone in his captivity
Iron bars, concrete and guards with guns was his nativity,
And if you could listen to the song of a protesters hymn
The citizens of that land was chanting, "DEPORT HIM"!
This child would now forever have a cross to bare
Just because he wasn't born here, but over there,
And one day that child would wear a crown of thorns
From racism, bigotry and other immigrant induced lies and scorns.
Sadly and deliberately people forgot where their fathers came from
As angels always remember, as their harps they do strum,
Just because a person is born poor, needy or is an Immigrant
Doesn't mean that they're evil or thought to God as unimportant.
The people now wanted the child to be deported
His status as a citizen was not praised, or even supported,
One day though this child might die for all man's sin
Even the ones who wanted him expatriated, and caged in.
