Borrowed Words

Now that commerce and pride
have turned 'champagne' to 'sparkling wine'
and are turning cheeses too;
and wanting to limit 'baloney' for their sakes,
there being no money in it,
will German pride alone, for its sake,
try to ban 'ersatz'
for 'substitute', 'fake'?
