Both Birds Flew Poem by Joshua Adeyemi

Both Birds Flew

Sat I and through the window looked,
at numb nature doing a stool;

While the dawn tarried
the dusk till he was wearied,
a white and black hen stood
ere a fence - courage's loo.

The black from the earth likened
the height to her courage.
While the white, crushed and whipped
by fear, to a mound paced.

Each at her height mocked the height.
After the black, the white flew.
Now on the fence, both hens sighed;
despite the odds, both birds flew.
