Bottled Up Letters Poem by Theodore Penn

Bottled Up Letters

Rating: 5.0

Lives were meant to be lived in the open
Yet too afraid to admit we're broken
Finding locked chests with missing keys
Like a note in a bottle, thoughts sent out to sea

Don't run away forever
Don't think that you're clever

I read the note you sent out from the sea
I got you now you, so don't bother to flee
My words make you feel vulnerable
Your past seems unutterable

I'll help you recover
Aid you to discover

You are an uncharted island behind the mist
Only find yourself there when you lower your fist
The key was in the bottle you float
The treasure was in the note you wrote
