#BowerOfLatitude
Slow tread beneath the boughs of branching palm,
Where vernal robins tune the laughing air;
The lavender breathes forth a fragrant balm,
Whose sweetness bids the heart forget its care.
Receive the kisses Nature freely gives,
Nor waste the hour that Heaven has made so fair;
Within these innocent delights she lives,
And writes her beauty on the fragrant air.
Set down your thoughts, catch the unseen grace
That flits with every robin's merry wing;
Guard well their secret nests, their dwelling-place,
For mercy crowns the least created thing.
Walk on, till dying clouds the hill-tops swallow;
Heaven makes, unmakes, and bids all mortals follow.
