Braving Shame Poem by Rm. Shanmugam Chettiar

Braving Shame

Starved of love in the childhood,
Married as raw in the teenage,
And put up by raw masculinity,
A woman, however chaste,
Lets herself fall vulnerable,
Her floodgates of romance thrown
Open to a new comer
At an appropriate time
And she elopes, braving shame
And deserting the family.
